These terms govern your use of Bemis (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a reading companion and social book club service. By creating an account or using Bemis, you agree to these terms.

The service

Bemis helps you track books, discuss them with an AI companion, join book clubs, and discover recommendations. Bemis is not a substitute for reading the book itself and does not reproduce copyrighted text.

Accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction).

Acceptable use

Do not harass other members, post unlawful content, attempt to bypass spoiler gates for others, scrape the service, or use Bemis to generate or distribute pirated book content. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Bemis Plus & billing

Paid subscriptions (Bemis Plus) renew automatically until canceled. Prices are shown at checkout. Refunds follow our refund policy stated at purchase and applicable law. Free tier limits (discussions per month, club memberships) are described on the pricing page and may change with notice.

AI-generated content

Companion responses and recommendations are generated by AI and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Use your judgment; Bemis does not guarantee factual correctness about books or authors.

Limitation of liability

Bemis is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
