Privacy policy

Bemis (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use our reading companion and book club service, and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account data: email, display name, authentication identifiers (via Supabase).
• Library data: books you add, shelves, reading progress, solo discussion messages.
• Club data: memberships, thread posts, votes — visible to other club members per thread rules.
• Payment data: processed by Stripe; we store subscription status, not full card numbers.
• Usage data: logs and analytics to operate and improve the service (aggregated where possible).

How we use information

We use your data to provide library sync, AI companion responses, club spoiler gating, recommendations, billing, and support. Discussion content may be sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate responses — not to train public models on your behalf beyond provider policy.

Sharing

We use subprocessors including Supabase (database/auth), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), OpenAI (companion AI), and hosting providers. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices

You may update profile settings, export or delete account data via support, and cancel marketing emails. Club posts you publish remain visible to members until deleted.
